Beam Cleaning & Restoration Reviews

I had contacted a number of companies before coming across Prontius, one told me our beams were soft wood and it was unlikely micro blasting would have much impact on the dark stain therefore they would not quote for the job.

Richard was brilliant with his communication, he had no concerns about the results he could achieve and we quickly booked a date which he fitted in within 2 weeks.

Richard travelled from Worcester to Cheshire and was with us by 8 am, he was so professional, friendly and a lovely guy to have in our home-our 3 year old loved him and Richard took him under his wing as his apprentice for the day!

Richard’s level of prep work is outstanding and this minimised the mess and contained it to the areas he was working in. Richard worked like a daemon to get the job done but his primary focus at all times was to do a great job.

We are thrilled with Richard’s hard work and our beams are now something to be very proud of. To top of the excellent service, Richard’s tidying up and cleaning was outstanding and our house was back to normal by 6pm.

He takes such care and pride in his work and I am thrilled to have found him-he will be the only person I call for more work to be done!

We first got in touch with Richard at Protinus when we had just had an offer accepted and were exploring our options for restoration work. His advice was invaluable, honest and easy to understand. He even helped us speak to our local planning officer to get listed building consent sorted.

When we finally completed on our purchase he managed to squeeze us in at quite short notice and even finished the work quicker (and therefore at a lower cost) than we first expected which was a complete and unexpected bonus.

The beams and doors all look absolutely incredible now - they've gone from a horrible varnished mahogany colour to a beautiful natural oak. We lived in the property throughout and they worked so hard to keep areas clean and liveable, paying particular attention to cleaning any rooms my three year old daughter would use that night. We were left with barely any clean up to do ourselves and the work has absolutely transformed our home.

Richard and his team have just completed beam and stair balustrade cleaning in our 18 century Grade 2 listed building and what a fantastic job they have done!

The beams have been brought back to life having been thickly covered in black, white, and varnished coatings.

Richard was very prompt in replying to our original enquiry and provided a very reasonable quote. He was flexible and worked around our schedule and then went above and beyond our cleaning requirements when it came to carrying out the work.

Richard is very courteous, hardworking and was sympathetic to the timberwork in our house and thoroughly cleaned up after the work was done.  When other tradesman saw the beams, they also were extremely impressed and have requested Richard’s contact details, which we were more than happy to oblige.
